===ENGLISH BELOW=== Het weekendje weg naar Rastede voor deelname aan de Rasteder Musiktage stond ook dit jaar weer op de agenda.

Op vrijdag vertrok de hele stoet van bus, Iveco en truck naar Rastede. Een rit van ongeveer 4 uur waarbij het één en al gezelligheid was met een drankje, allerlei hapjes, kaartspelletjes en geklets.

In Rastede aangekomen zocht iedereen in de verschillende schoollokalen een plekje om zijn of haar slaapplek in orde te maken. Daarna was er nog even tijd om een drankje te doen of naar de feesttent te gaan.

Op zaterdag stond er eerst een ontbijt op het programma. Hierna maakte iedereen zich klaar voor de repetitie. Een goede repetitie maar erg wisselvallig qua weer. Voor de lunch was het zonnebrand smeren geblazen door een onverwacht felle zon. Na de lunch was er juist veel regen, wind en onweer. Er werd besloten de repetitie te beëindigen en ’s avonds een wat uitgebreidere warming-up te doen. De groep ging terug naar de slaaplocatie om zich te douchen. Terug bij het veld was er tijd om wat te eten.

Hierna startte de warming-up en rond 20.00 uur was het showtime. Voor het eerst was er een DCE klasse toegevoegd aan de vele klasses die in Rastede worden vertegenwoordigd. De groep draaide een redelijk goede show en mocht met 70.3 punten een eerste plaats in ontvangst nemen. Na de prijsuitreiking werd er nog een vuurwerkshow gehouden. Erg mooi, maar men was in gedachten ook bij het Nederlands elftal die op dat momentnet aan de tweede helft was begonnen tegen Costa Rica. Na de retreat stond de groep in een grote kring te luisteren naar het radiocommentaar van de wedstrijd die via een telefoon en speaker werd afgespeeld. Ondertussen de bus in en de speaker bij de microfoon. Aangekomen bij de slaaplocatie was het moment gevallen dat er penalties zouden worden genomen. De leden hielden het niet meer. Wat was het vreemd om dit via een radioverslag mee te moeten maken! Een enorm gejuich bij de beslissende gemiste penalty door Costa Rica. Wat een avond, een goede show draaien en door de 70 punten grens heen en Nederland door naar de halve finale! Daar moest op gedronken worden!

Zondag kon iedereen heerlijk uitslapen tot 10.00 uur. Na het inpakken van alle spullen vertrokken ze richting het zwembad waar een duik genomen kon worden en een uitgebreide lunch klaarstond. Ondertussen maakten de guardleden zich op en gingen de haren weer in model. Rond half 2 gingen alle secties uiteen voor hun warming-up waarna alle secties zich samenvoegden en een run deden in concertvorm. Hierna was het wederom showtime. Want alleen de nummer 1 uit de DCE klasse mocht op zondag weer meedoen. Op zondag werden hooggeplaatste korpsen uit verschillende klassen met behulp van het One World System worden bejureerd. Helaas waaide het enorm maar het corps sloeg zich erdoorheen en probeerde dit juist om te zetten in vechtlust. Ze zetten een betere show neer dan op zaterdag.

Beatrix’ was de laatste deelnemer in haar klasse maar gelukkig konden de leden even bijkomen omdat er nog twee shows na hen waren. Hierna volgde de prijsuitreiking. Een erg lange vanwege de vele klassen waar hier de uitslagen van worden bekend gemaakt, waaronder ook wedstrijden van orkesten die in een gymzaal werden gehouden. Maar uiteindelijk was Beatrix’ aan de beurt. Moeilijk om de score echt op waarde te schatten omdat het geenszins te vergelijken is met het DCE manual. Waar wel mee vergeleken kon worden was de uitslag van het WMC in juli 2013. Toen behaalde Beatrix’ 84.75 punten met het One World System. Beatrix’ behaalde in Rastede een tweede plaats met onderscheiding met maar liefst 91.38 punten. We zijn op de goede weg! Uiteraard onze felicitaties aan de Beihang University Marchingband die met 92.44 punten en de titel European Open Champion naar huis mocht gaan.

Na de retreat werd snel alles ingeladen, kon iedereen nog even wat te eten halen bij de vele eetkraampjes die er stonden en kon de terugreis beginnen. Velen vielen moe maar tevreden in slaap. Voor Beatrix’ is nu de zomervakantie aangebroken. Na de vakantie zal het corps direct starten met een trainingsweekend van 15 tot en met 17 augustus op haar vaste trainingslocatie op Sherpa.

It almost becomes a tradition; participating in the Rasteder Musiktage in Rastede in the last weekend before the summer break.

Friday in the evening the bus, Iveco and the truck left to Rastede. A drive of about 4 hours in which it was all fun with some drinks, snacks, card games and chatter.

Once we arrived in Rastede everyone found a place to sleep in one of the classrooms. After that there was some time to have a couple of drinks or to go to the tent at the festival terrain.

At Saturday the first thing on the schedule was breakfast. After this everyone got ready for the rehearsal. A good rehearsal but the weather was very unpredictable. Before lunch we had to put lots of sunscreen on because of the unexpectedly bright sun. After lunch on the other hand, there was a lot of rain, wind and lightning. We decided to stop the rehearsal and to do a more extensive warm-up in the evening. The group returned to the sleeping location to get a shower. Once they came back to the field it became time to have dinner.

After dinner the warm-up started and around 8 pm it was showtime. For the first time Rastede also had added a DCE class to the numerous classes it already had. The group had a fairly good show and received a first place with a score of 70.3 points. After the award ceremony there was fireworks. Very pretty, but in thought we were with the Dutch team who had just started their second half against Costa Rica. After the retreat the group was listening in a big circle to the radio comments of the game that was played via a phone through a speaker. Meanwhile we got in the bus and the speaker was held to the microphone. Once we arrived at the sleeping location the moment came for the penalties. The members were out of control. It was so strange to have to experience this through radio! A big cheer when Costa Rica missed the penalty. What a night, a good show and breaking the 70 point marker and Holland to the semi-finals! We should drink to that!

Sunday the members got to sleep in until 10 am. After packing we left to the pool where we could swim and where also was a lunch. In the meantime the guard prepared themselves and fixed their hair. Around 1.30 pm the sections left for their own warming-ups, after that the sections came back together to do a full run in concert. After this it became showtime for the second time this weekend. Only the number one from the DCE class could compete on Sunday. This time we were not judged by the DCE system, but by the One World System. Unfortunately it was pretty windy, but the corps got through and had a better show than Saturday.

Beatrix’ was the last contestant in their division but luckily the members had some time to regain strength because there were still two more shows after them. After this the award ceremony followed. A very long one due to the numerous amount of divisions. Finally it became Beatrix’ its turn. It was difficult to put a label on the scores because the judging system is in no way comparable to the DCE Manual. Which it can be compared to is the score of WMC in July 2013. At that time Beatrix’ scored 84.75 points in the One World System. In Rastede Beatrix’ came in second place with a score of 91.38 points. We’re at the right path! Off course we would like to congratulate the Beihang University Marchingband with the 92.44 points and the title European Open Champion they received.

After the retreat everything was quickly loaded to the truck so everyone would still have some time to get dinner. Then our journey home became. A lot of members fell asleep with a big smile on their face. For Beatrix’ the summer vacation has started. After the vacation the corps will start with a training weekend from August 15 until 17 at our own training location Sherpa.
