Dit jaar presenteren de dames en heer van Beatrix’ Winterguard hun programma van 2016: ‘The Queen’s Unsound Mind’.

De show is een gedurfde stap omdat de leden zich gaan verdiepen in de geest van misschien wel één van de meest productieve en invloedrijke bands van de Engelse geschiedenis: ‘Queen’.

Queen’s muzikale genre was totaal anders dan die van anderen, doordat zij, net zoals de schrijvers Wilde en Dickens, beeldende verhalen vertelde. Geïnspireerd door hun eigen persoonlijke ervaringen, vermengd met de culturele invloeden uit die tijd, bracht deze powerhouse rock band een legendarische sterrendom.

Met als basis de bekende en immens populaire track ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ zet Beatrix’ Winterguard dit creatieve proces van ontdekken en opbouwen neer. We hopen dat u geniet van de leden van Beatrix’ Winterguard die met een knipoog een prikkelende blik werpen op de buitengewone stijl van Queen en de woorden van Freddie Mercury tot leven brengen.

This year the ladies and gentleman of Beatrix’ Winterguard wish to present their 2016 show entitled ‘The Queen’s Unsound Mind’. This year’s production will dare to delve into the minds of arguably one of the most prolific and influential UK bands in history: ‘Queen’.

Queen’s idea that being different in a musical genre filled with competition, along with their immense musical talent and seemingly Wilde or Dicken’s like ability to tell stories accentuated through the lens of their unique personal experiences and cultural influences for the time was the driving force to propel this rock powerhouse into legendary stardom.

This is our point of exploration inside the creative processes of building such a product with the well known and ever popular ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ as the motive within this most unsound track and aesthetic. We hope you’ll enjoy this “tongue in cheek” yet provocative look into the pathology of ‘Queen’ as told through the words of Freddie Mercury and brought to life by Beatrix’ Winterguard.
